Pending 2 more decisions (unlikely admissions odds), these are my current college choices:
Likely Selections
Harvey Mudd College (financial aid status will come soon)
UC Berkeley (Regents: $1000 off, so maybe $18k a year?)
UCLA (Regents: $5500 a year off (plus other benefits), so maybe paying $13-14k a year all told?)
Vanderbilt University ($38k off, paying $6k a year + free laptop (Engineering Honors Scholar))
Yale (cost: approximately $32k a year, beyond family reach without $10k or larger loans yearly)
Less Likely Selections
Carnegie Mellon University (didn’t file the CMU financial aid application in time…so no financial aid)
UC Irvine (Regents: $9k a year off, so maybe paying $10k all told?)
Considerations:
Grad school.
Extensive workstudy not preferable because I want to have some money for personal expenses.
Location, location, location.
Amount of work (please no Troy again, thanks).
Student/teacher quality.
Post a comment as to where you think I should go, and why.
