Flight to Shanghai. Long (14 hours), tiring, and boring. Watched P.S. I Love You and Astronaut Farmer. The food was noodles and beef and not great. We got in at 6:30 PM and began looking for SIM cards and ATMs. My phone was the only one that worked, although we figured out later that it was because Li had his phone on the wrong band. Took the MagLev at 300 km/h to the Metro, where we got to our youth hostel. Shopped at a Family Mart (big at Japan). The hostel was nice, mostly Germans on Skype and a few American women. It turns out the sites like Hotmail, Facebook, and Blogspot are blocked in China but for some reason none of the Google sites are.
