On the second day in Tokushima, we got some ramen in the morning from a vending machine that prints out tickets you take to the cashier. I had Tokushima ramen which was pretty darn good and seems to consist of normal ramen with some extra corn. Then we headed to a Shinto shrine where we accidentally took part in a baby’s blessing (on video!), thanks to a family who wanted to have the random foreigners be part of their ceremony. We talked to the priest for a bit who told us about his trips to California for family and Lawry’s steakhouse. We then went to the main Tokushima museum where I had some thick green tea and we learned about their traditional Awa dance (ichi ni!). The troupe that performed was pretty amazing and I got a little flag for effort even though I kinda screwed the whole thing up. The girl with a Taiwanese tour group was very pretty and was definitely better at the dance than we were. We walked through the museum a bit (Tokushima was totally destroyed in WW2 like every other city in Japan save Kyoto) and headed up to the skyway.
