Luckily, Sunny had some Advil which I took gladly. We made a quick trip to get Sunny some post cards. She is obsessed with sending them in the country in which they were purchased! We popped into a pub to see that Chelsea was playing. I ordered the veggie English breakfast because it came with a tomato. The fake sausage wasn’t half-bad - it actually tasted like turkey stuffing. We headed into the Underground to get back to Heathrow for our connection to Warsaw.
This time we got to go to Terminal 5 which I remembered well from 2008. Mind the gap, indeed! I managed to spend the rest of my pounds on This Water (really?) and a cute little London bear with a Mark Zuckerburg-esque hoodie. For some reason, we had to wait to be assigned a gate. Just 15 minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave, we got our gate and left. The flight was uneventful. I sat in the emergency exit row, with lots of legroom, and slept for nearly the whole flight. Warsaw, however, was kind of a disaster. After mostly sunny days in England, the rain, wind, and low temperature really put a damper on our spirits. Max nearly got himself killed getting out of our cab as the driver pulled a 180 near our hotel, but things were uneventful otherwise. After retreating to our rooms for a while, we headed out to shop for umbrellas (for me) and to grab dinner. Sunny noted that the mall we found really resembled a pretty nice LA mall. We walked around and eventually found a restaurant named “Sphinx”. It later turned out that our odds of finding this restaurant were pretty good - there were about 10 or 20 dotting the city! We had shwarma, which came with fries and purple cole slaw. Since it was still raining, we went back to the hotel. I slept through our 10:30 PM call for drinks and only woke to finish reading “Blindsight” before going to sleep.
