The urge to post an entry...

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an entry. Many months in fact. Probably very few people still check this journal for updates, which is eminently reasonable. In fact, Vanderbilt has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, leaving me with very little time to reflect, ponder, or consider the changes that I’ve been going through over the last 4 months. Now that we’ve finally gotten to Christmas break, and soon to New Years, I thought I’d do a little reflection over the year.

Senior year was immensely fun, even as the work was due and the projects were handed in and the tests were taken. I’ve written plenty about this, but it’s all true, looking back on it. I had a great time, and more importantly, I discovered that only -I- could make the difference between having a great, involving time and existing in a miserable cocoon.

Then I had summer. Summer was fun, slow-paced, and relaxing. I worked a job that kept me intellectually stimulated and taught me a lot about how the real world works. I need to get in touch with my coworkers - they are all great people and I like ‘em a lot.

Then I got to Vanderbilt. Boy oh boy. From Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science (which was a hoot, definitely) to other groups to class to my close group of friends (shouts out to Pete, Xan, Tommy, Wajih, Raynor, Bethany, Charlie, Kyle, Mo, and whoever else I may be missing out on!) to random trips to Wendy’s or White Castle in the middle of the night to movies in Wilson Hall to Arfenhouse to taking over conference rooms - oh my God, I can’t believe I lived before college.

I believe I can say without qualification that this has been the most interesting and most fun year of my life. I hope they get even better.

I LIKE MY BETHANY!

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming, dead silence, with an interlude of pure chaotic noise from Ari’s brain.
